Cemetery of Ash

A misty graveyard where the Unkindled rise. It teaches the basics and ends with Iudex Gundyr.

Bosses

Iudex Gundyr: Halberd-wielding tutorial boss. Stay close behind his swings; a black serpent bursts out at half health.

Broken Straight Sword: On a gravestone just past the door out of the Iudex Gundyr arena.
Uchigatana: Dropped by the Sword Master at the top of the stairs left of the Firelink Shrine entrance.
East-West Shield: Stuck in a tree branch on the left of the stairs left of the Firelink Shrine entrance.
Master's Attire: Dropped by the Sword Master at the top of the stairs left of the Firelink Shrine entrance.
Master's Gloves: Dropped by the Sword Master at the top of the stairs left of the Firelink Shrine entrance.
Speckled Stoneplate Ring+1: NG+: in the Ravenous Crystal Lizard area right of the central fountain.
Wolf Ring+2: NG++: on a corpse to the left just past the door out of the Iudex Gundyr arena.
Rest: Rest at a bonfire for the first time.
Coiled Sword: Dropped by Iudex Gundyr.

Take the first right after waking up and grab a Soul of a Deserted Corpse.
Search the body slumped by the fountain for the Ashen Estus Flask.
Go right past the fountain through the flooded passage, slay the Ravenous Crystal Lizard for a Titanite Scale and loot a Soul of an Unknown Traveler nearby.
NG+ only: the Speckled Stoneplate Ring+1 lies in this same flooded corner.
Back at the fountain, go straight up the cliff path and rest at the Cemetery of Ash bonfire to learn the Rest gesture.
Take the left path below the bonfire and leap onto the tomb to grab a Titanite Shard.
Follow the side ledge under the big cliff on the right for Firebomb x5.
Pull the sword from the statue in the arena and defeat Iudex Gundyr. He leaves the Coiled Sword.
Rest at the new Iudex Gundyr bonfire.
Through the big doors, take the Broken Straight Sword from the body propped on a gravestone.
NG++ only: the Wolf Ring+2 sits behind the doors you just walked through.
Pick up a Homeward Bone at the edge of the cliff.
Climb the left path and, just before Firelink Shrine, turn left to take the East-West Shield from a body in a tree.
Sword Master Saber guards the cliff on the right. Kill him for the Uchigatana and the Master's Set; this also makes his summon sign appear later.
Climb the path on the left to grab an Ember from a body above the shrine entrance.
Cross to the far side for a Homeward Bone behind a tomb, then drop to the lower ledge for another Ember.
Return to the main path and enter Firelink Shrine.
